Engineer, of London. Thomas Claxton Fidler, later professor of engineering at University College, Dundee, and author of a standard work, A Practical treatise on bridge construction (1887), designed Anglesea Bridge, Cork, in 1880.(1)

Date: 1877-82
Nature: New swing bridge replacing earlier structure (Anglesea Bridge) which had become too small for shipping. TCF's design selected 1877. Contrs: Alex. Rooney, and later John Delany. Supervising architect: Robert Walker. Iron components by Stockton forge Company. Opened 11 Nov 1882.  Cost £28,000. (Taken down in 1960s)
