Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, of Wexford, active in the 1860s and 1870s. Martin John Farrell was apprenticed to his father, JAMES BARRY FARRELL JAMES BARRY FARRELL , from 1859 until 1864 and worked with him thereafter, becoming his partner in 1872. Projects on which he was engaged included the improvement of Wexford Harbour, the Wexford and New Ross bridges, Rosslare railway and harbour, and Courtown harbour. He also provided the designs for Taghmon Catholic church in Co. Wexford (1869-71).(1)
