Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Cork, who designed the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Enniskean, Co. Cork, in 1871.(1) His connection, if any, with RICHARD EVANS[3]  RICHARD EVANS[3] has not been established. A builder named Richard Evans submitted a tender for executing works at the Corn Market in Cork in June 1871,(2) and a builder described as Richard Evans, junior, of 23 Sullivan's Quay, Cork, is listed in the Guy's Cork Almanac and Directory for 1888.

Building: CO. CORK, ENNISKEAN, CHURCH OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION (RC)
Date: 1871
Nature: New cruciform church in Early Pointed style, with strong Irish feeling in its details. tower between S transept and nave, with octagonal broach spire. Site given by Duke of Devonshire. FS laid 7 May 1871.
