EMDEN, THOMAS WALTER LAWRENCE #

Architect of London, specializing in theatre design., for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 612. At the time of the Dublin Exhibition of 1872, he would only have been twenty-five or younger but already, according to the Irish Times, enjoyed 'a high reputation for his taste and talent as an architect'.(1) He designed the interior decoration for the Grand Concert Hall(2) as well as four fountains, two inside and two outside the exhibition building.(3)
