CASEY, WILLIAM P.

Civil engineer and town surveyor of Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. According to the 1911 census, William Casey was born in Co. Wexford in 1869 or 1870. He can almost certainly be identified as the William Casey, son of Patrick William Casey and his wife Mary, née O'Leary, who was born in Co. Wexford on 2 August 1869.(1) By 1907 he had been appointed town surveyor of Enniscorthy in a temporary capacity. He was later appointed on a permanent basis and was still in the post in 1922. At the time of the 1911 census he was unmarried and living with his mother in Enniscorthy.
