Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect. Martin Day, who was born in Gallagh, Co. Wexford, was active in Cos. Waterford and Wexford from 1822 or earlier until 1849 or later. He assisted DANIEL ROBERTSON  DANIEL ROBERTSON at Ballinkeele, Johnstown Castle, Bloomfield and Castleboro, Co. Wexford, as well as designing country houses on his own account. According to Rowe & Scallan, other members of the family, John Day and WILLIAM DAY  WILLIAM DAY were also architects in Co. Wexford, while there was also a connection with RICHARD PURCELL. RICHARD PURCELL. (1)
