Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Deputy to ROBERT ROCHFORD ROBERT ROCHFORD , Surveyor General, in 1765.(1) He may be the Mr Chaigneau who subscribed to the Rev. John Payne's Twelve Designs of Country Houses, published in Dublin in 1757. HENRY CHAIGNEAU  HENRY CHAIGNEAU may have been a relation.


(1) Faulkner's Dublin Journal, 16-19 Mar 1765; however according to the handlist by Aideen Ireland of Pembroke estate records in NA, Acc. 2011, a tracing of a map of Donnybrook of 16 Nov 1770 is signed 'Andw Chaigneau Depy sur Genl of Lands &c.'.
