COURTNEY, F.W.
- Born: - Died: -
Architect, of Dublin, who exhibited a proposed design for a bridge over the Liffey and a proposed design for the Ulster Bank, Belfast, at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1858 (nos. 319 and 356). The following year he entered a design in the competition for the new Molyneux Church, Leeson Park,(1) and in 1860 he competed in the Rathgar Presbyterian church competition.(2) He was also the author of a letter describing a novel cooking apparatus patented by a Mr Radley which appeared in the Dublin Builder of 1 April 1859;(3) the subject of the letter suggests that Courtney may have been connected with the firm of Courtney, Stephens & Co., ironfounders, engineers and farming instrument manufacturers, of Blackhall Place, Dublin.
Address: 79 Leeson St Lower, 1858-1862.(3)
