Architect or surveyor, of Mitchelstown, Co. Cork,(1) active from 1911 or earlier until 1950 or later. In 1911 Patrick Coughlan of Fermoy was elected engineer to Mitchelstown Rural Council, no. 1, following the resignation of FRANCIS EDWIN DRAPER ,(2) and his address thereafter is generally given in notices of his works in the Irish Builder as Mitchelstown, although it is also given as Fermoy in 1922,(3) as 7 Gladstone Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, in 1925(4) and as Mallow in 1933.(5) In the early part of his career between 1918 and 1922 Coughlan appears to have worked in partnership with an E. O'Mahony.
