COCKBURN, PETER

Carpenter and stonecutter, of Dublin. Peter Cockburn was a son of JOHN COCKBURN [1] JOHN COCKBURN [1] . He was awarded a premium by the Dublin Society's Schools in 1802(1) and admitted a freeman of the City as a member of the Corporation of Masons by virtue of service at Christmas 1809.(2) He was taken into partnership by his father, with whom he worked on the spire of St George's church, Dublin, circa 1811-12. He continued in business after his father's death in 1811/12 but disappears from the directories after 1829.

A person of the same name married Catherine, daughter of Joseph Ashley in Dublin on 27 September 1809.(2)
