Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect and builder of Lombard Street, Galway, listed as such in Pigot & Co.'s City of Dublin and Hibernian Provincial Directory (1824), 206. William Clarke, of College Road, Galway, was admitted a freeman of Galway on 18 September 1832.(1)   He was survived by at least two sons:  R.J. Clarke (d. 1875) emigrated to Prince Edward Island, Canada;  John Clarke was resident in Tuam at the time of his brother's death.(2)
