Nature: New Gothic church. For Rev. Dr Crawfurd, but cf. Newtownforbes. (According to Lewis, the church was built in 1825 'by aid of a gift of £1100 from the late Board of First Fruits, and enlarged in 1830, by a loan of £300 from the same Board and a donation of £100 from the Countess Dowager of Rosse'. )
