Nature: GES's advice sought on continuation of work of restoration. Submits report, recommending that plaster be removed from stone piers and that common masonry of interior exposed. Report adopted and ordered to be printed for circulation, Jan 1877. GES appoints J.F. Fuller 'to act as his lieutenant for the restoration of Limerick Cathedral', May 1877. Diocesan Council decides, Jul 1877, to divide restoration between GES and Fuller, re-arrangement and decoration of interior being reserved for GES, fabric repairs to Fuller.

Fuller prepares plans for 'various roofs and windows, Sep1877; contracts entered into with Mr Crosbie, builder, to amount of about £2500, Mar 1878;  restoration of chapels of N side completed Mar 1880.

Nature: Ornate piece of polished limestone work at junction of transept and chancel beside pulpit. Completed early 1916. 6" panel set into wall formed by raking plinth following line of pulpit steps in conjunction with Gothic traceried heads. Sunken divisions overhead surmounted by cornice.
