Nature: JM paid £2.5s.6d. for  plans for the new church in 1814-15 and received further payments 'for half expenses of measuring measuring slater's work' (6s.) in 1815-16 and 'for half measuring roof of church' (£24,6s,4½d.) in 1817-18.  Church records also note payments in connection with new church  to 'Mr Dolittle, Architect' (£5 in 1815-16) and to 'Mr Byrne, Architect'(£3 in 1818-19), whereas James McKey is not referred to as an architect.
