||New school for 40 children on land given by Sir Richard Cox (at Kilbarry?), who also provided slate, stones and labourers and endowment of £20 p.a. In progress 1750. Opened 1751. Seemed 'nearly ruinous' though inhabited when D.A. Beaufort visited it in 1788.
