Nature: New parliament and high court building provided for under Government of |reland Act, 1920.  General contractors: Stewart & Partners, Belfast, Dublin and London (tender approx. £300,000). Decoration by G. Morrow & Son, Clifton St, Belfast.,  Considerable delay in building same.  Only foundations laid by Aug 1926. Formal laying of foundation stone by Duke of Abercorn, Governor of Northern Ireland, 19 May 1928.  Opened by Prince of Wales, 16 Nov 1932  Awarded RIBA trennial medal for conspicuous merit in architecture, 1935.
