Nature: New Romanesque church on site given by Mr Field in Vale of Shanganagh.  Local granite  Tenders invited, Aug 1930. FS laid August 1931. Builder: E. Power, Cabra.  Cornerstone blessed by Archbishop of Dublin, 26 Jul 1931, aafter 'considerable portion' of work had been started.
