FS laid 12 Jun 1868.  Tenders invited for erection of roof, Oct 1870.  Dedicated, 13 Oct 1873 while in course of erection (and again in 1881?). Builder: Hammond of Drogheda. Contractors for roof and ceiling: Mssrs Meade. Clerk of Works: Christopher Dromgoole. Communion railings and corbels by Earley & Powell. Carved angels in apse by Mr Hone.  Encaustic flooring executed by Terence Dolan.
