Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Assistant architect with Dublin Corporation.  Michael O'Kelly was a brother of the first president of Ireland, Sean T. O'Kelly.  Several times wounded when fighting during the Rising and the Civil War, he served an architectural apprenticeship under VINCENT KELLY  VINCENT KELLY before joining the staff of Dublin Corporation under HORACE T. O'ROURKE HORACE T. O'ROURKE . Under O'ROURKE  ROURKE he worked on the conversion of Charlemont House into the Municipal Art Gallery, circa 1931.  He died of an aneurism at the age of thirty-four.
