Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Chief mechanical engineer to the Midland Great Western Railway Company of Ireland until 1925 and later Deputy Chief Engineer of the Great southern Railway Company.  Arthur White Bretland, younger son of JOSIAH CORBETT BRETLAND JOSIAH CORBETT BRETLAND , was born in Co. Down circa 1879 and attended school at Campbell College, Belfast..He died in 1953 and was buried with his wife, Loubert, in St Andrew's Church of Ireland Cemetery, Malahide, Co. Dublin.
