Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, plumbing contractor, and architect, of Kilkenny, active from the 1830s to the 1850s.  In 1840 Wright worked in collaboration with THOMAS MEEHAN  THOMAS MEEHAN on  the new bridge designed by SAMSON CARTER  SAMSON CARTER over the River Dinan on the Freshford to Castlecomer road(1) as well as building 200 perches of the same road.(2)   Later, in collaboration with PATRICK O'TOOLE PATRICK O'TOOLE , he designed and built the Capuchin church of St Francis, Kilkenny (1848-49),(3) Gowran Courthouse (1855-56)(4) and flanking wings to Kilfane House, Co. Kilkenny (1855-56).(5)   The design side of the latter three projects may perhaps have been O'Toole's responsibility rather than Wright's.
