Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Landscape gardener, active from the 1760s.  Smith who was initially employed by the first and second Dukes of Leinster at Carton and later by the widowed Duchess of Leinster at Frascati, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, eventually set up in business as a professional landscape gardener and was employed at Russborough, Co. Wicklow, and other places in Ireland.(1)
