Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English engineer, for whom see the obituary in Min.Proc.Inst.CE 170 (1906-1907), 377-383, and Oxford Dictionary of National Biography..  Among his many important projects, Benjamin Baker was responsible, with Sir John Fowler, for the design of the Forth Rail Bridge in Scotland, opened in 1890.  In Ireland, as consulting engineer to the Castleblayney, Keady & Armagh Railway, he designed the Keady Viduct, opened in 1909, and the Tassagh Viaduct, 1903-1911, (1)  He was also consulting engineer to the Rosslare & Waterford Railway.
