English engineer, for whom see the obituary in Min.Proc.Inst.CE 24 (1865), 527-528. From 1833 to 1845 Thomas Casebourne, a former pupil of THOMAS TELFORD , was in charge of the construction of the Ulster Canal. In 1841 he delivered a 'Description of a portion of the Works of the Ulster Canal' to the Institution of Civil Engineers, for which he was awarded a Telford Premium of Books. When he moved to West Hertlepool in 1843, he was succeeded by WILLIAM CUBITT as engineer to the canal.
