Architect, of Greenock, Scotland, for whom see Dictionary of Scottish Architects, www.scottisharchitects.org.uk. Macfarlane, who had earlier been a pupil of Sir JOHN BENJAMIN MACNEILL , was an entrant in the Dublin O'Connell monument competition of 1864-65.(1)
