Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Co. Cavan, active at the end of the eighteenth century and opening of the nineteenth.   He was the father of another John McEffer, who entered Trinity College, Dublin, in 1815 at the age of seventeen, and later became a doctor, and presumably also of Henry McEffer, architect, of Cavan, who was the signatory to a bond dated 14 August 1820 concerning the construction of Monaghan gaol.
