Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Stained-glass makers, of Shrewsbury, England.  Charles Evans (1828-1864) and his brother William Evans carried on the stained-glass business of their father, David Evans (1793-1861), and his partner John Betton (1765-1849), as Charles Evans & Co.  The firm executed at least two windows for Irish churches: at Mayne C of I church in Co. Westmeath (1889)(1) and at Kiltegan Church of Ireland church, Co. Wicklow (1894).
