Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, of Carlow, who produced a design and estimate for a two-storey, five-bay gardener's house for Thomas 'Buck' Whaley in 1788; this was presumably for Whaley's demesne at Whaley Abbey, Co. Wicklow, which was only about twenty-five miles from Carlow. There is nothing about the drawing to suggest that Haydon had received any architectural training.(1)
