Carpenter, of 42 Clarendon Street, Dublin, who appears in Wilson's Dublin Directory for the years 1814-1817. According to his fellow tradesmen, writing in 1834, James Kirkwood of Clarendon Street set up in business after 1800. Having at one stage employed seven men, his business failed, and by 1834 had become a 'preventive officer'.(1)
