Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Sculptor and modeller, of Dorset Street Upper, Dublin, active in the 1830s and 1840s. Robert Ballantine, who was presumably a son of ROBERT BALLANTINE [1] ROBERT BALLANTINE [1] , was admitted to the Royal Dublin Society's School of Figure Drawing in 1833. He entered the School of Modelling the following year and was awarded a prize in 1836. During the 1840s he was in business as a sculptor and 'general modeller' operating from his father's premises in Dorset Street Upper.
