Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect with the Office of Public Works, c.1931-1971. Leonard Wingrove Manning, who was born on 17 September 1907, was educated at Aravon School, Bray, and St Columba's College, Rathfarnham. Upon leaving school in 1925, he was apprenticed to DONNELLY MOORE & KEATINGE DONNELLY MOORE & KEATINGE . During his apprenticeship he also attended the School of Architecture at University College, Dublin (January 1926 - June 1928) and the Metropolitan School of Art. He stayed on as an assistant in Donnelly, Moore & Keating's office until 1931, when he joined the staff of the Office of Public Works. He remained with the Office of Public Works until his retirement in 1971.
