Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

A Charles Papworth of 32 Lower Abbey Street, Dublin, is named on the list of subscribers to the eighth and final volume of the Architectural Publication Society's Dictionary, dated April 1892, where he is described as the local honorary secretary. This Charles Papworth appears to be the same person as the Charles Papworth, architect, of Abbey Street, who was admitted to Simpson's Hospital in November 1879 at the age of sixty-four having been incapacitated by gout, and died there on 4 May 1892.(1) It was noted at the time of his admission to the hospital that his address was 28 Lower Gardiner Street and he was  unmarried.
