Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Dublin. Austin George Pugin Meldon, was a son of Dr George Pugin Meldon, FRCSI, of 6 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin, by his wife Mary, née Power, and a great-grandson of AUGUSTUS WELBY NORTHMORE PUGIN. AUGUSTUS WELBY NORTHMORE PUGIN. (1) He studied architecture at University College, Dublin, graduating with the B.Arch degree in 1933.(2) He then joined the architectural staff of the Office of Public Works. He probably retired in 1972, when he ceased to be a member of the RIAI.

RIAI: elected member, 1934; member of council, 1948-1952; elected fellow, 1952?; no longer on list of members after 1971.
