Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Builder, of Dublin. According to the Dublin census of 1911, James Kiernan was born in Co. Dublin in 1847 or 1848.   He was active as a builder in Dublin city from the late 1880s or earlier and was one of the leading advocates for the establishment of the Dublin Master Builder's Association. He died in December 1919. By his wife, Edith, whom he married circa 1903 and who was some thirty-five years his junior, he had at least three children.   See also J. KIERNAN. KIERNAN.
