Carpenter and joiner, of Main Street, Limerick, active in the 1750s and 1760s. John Byrum, who is known to have been working in Limerick in the 1750s,(1) is listed as a carpenter with an address in Main Street and as one of the two wardens of the Carpenters' Guild in Ferrar's Limerick Trade Directory of 1769. A notice of the death in Limerick 'yesterday morning' of Ann Byrum, 'wife of Mr. John Byrum, an eminent Master Builder' appears in the Freeman's Journal of 25 February 1764.

There were also two carpenters of this name who were active in Limerick in the early nineteenth century. A John Byrum, carpenter, voted for John Tuthill in the parliamentary election for Limerick City in 1817,(2) and a John Byrum was admitted a freeman of the city on 7 October 1822 as having served his apprenticeship as a carpenter.(3)
