Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architectural partnership, of London, formed between Herbert Winkler Wills (1864-1937) and William Kaula (1885-1972), for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 1051, and II, 1016-7. The partnership was active from 1914 or earlier until 1938 or later. In November 1916 its design for 'The Round House, County Donegal, Ireland', an extravagant thatched cottage orné on a complex geometrical plan, was published in The Builder.(1) Both client and site are unknown. The house does not appear to have been built.
