Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect who prepared three unexecuted proposals for the Presbyterian meeting house at Banagher, Co. Derry, for the Fishmongers' Company in 1820.(1) On the evidence of the style of two of these designs, which survive in the Guildhall Library, London,(2) Shepherd may also have designed the Roman Catholic chapels at Moate, near Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh,(3) and at Maguiresbridge, Co. Fermanagh.(4)

A  Robert Shepherd was admitted to the Dublin Society's School of Drawing in Architecture in 1775 and two years later to the Schools of Figure Drawing and Landscape and Ornament Drawing.(5)  In PRONI  PRONI there are an elevation and plans for 'Grange Glebe House' signed by Robert Sheperd and dated 1786.(6)
