Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Joseph Pemberton is recorded as having planned and built the Cutlers' Hall in Capel Street in 1780-1782.(1) He may have been a non-craft member of the Guild and therefore could possibly be the Joseph Pemberton, cutler, of Dublin, whose will, dated 28 June 1778, was granted on 16 September 1797.(2) Perhaps the father of Alderman Joseph Pemberton, whose address in Wilson's Dublin Directory for 1806 is given as Pemberton Court, 144 Capel Street, and whose will is dated 19 February 1812.(3)
