Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, active in Co. Cork in the first decade of the twentieth century.. According to the 1911 census of Ireland, Richard O'Driscoll was born in Co. Limerick in 1859 or 1860.  Details of his early career are not known.  In 1907, after successfully sitting a competitive examination, he was appointed an engineer to the Congested Districts Board.(1)  the 1911 census records him as a forty-one-year-old widower living with a group of surveyors to the Board in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
