Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architectural partnership, of Dublin, formed between GEORGE LUKE O'CONNOR  GEORGE LUKE O'CONNOR and his assistant JOHN JAMES AYLWARD JOHN JAMES AYLWARD , probably in the summer of 1938.(1) A large number of their commissions came from the Christian Brothers, the Sisters of Mercy and the Dublin Board of Assistance. After the death of O'Connor in 1946, Aylward carried on the practice under the same name until he left Ireland for New Zealand in 1957 or 1958. The practice continued under the same name and at the same address until at least 1964.
