Town surveyor of Ennis, Co. Clare   Joseph Francis O'Connor, who, according to the 1911 census, was born in Co. Clare in  1861 or 1862, was town surveyor of Ennis and an assistant county surveyor for Co. Clare from 1900 or earlier.   He had ceased to be an assistant county surveyor by 1907 but appears to have remained town surveyor until his death, which took place at the end of 1916 or in the early days of January 1917.   At the time of the 1911 census he had been married to his wife, Frances, for seventeen years and had two daughters.
