John O'Brien was awarded premiums by the Royal Dublin Society's School of Drawing in Architecture on 25 April 1839, 28 May 1840 and 24 June 1841. A person - or persons - of the same name had been admitted to the school on 1 April 1830 and 3 November 1831.
