Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Chief planning officer of Dublin Corporation from 1941 or earlier until 1958 or later. Michael O'Brien, who had a BE degree,(1) had joined the staff of Dublin Corporation by 1936(2) and had been promoted to the position of chief planning officer by 1941.(3) He was still in the post in 1958.(4)

ICEI: elected associate member, 6 May 1935;(5) presents paper, 'The engineer's contribution to town and country planning', for discussion on 1 February 1943;(6) transferred to member, 1 February 1954.(7)
