Engineer. According to the English census of 1881, Telford Macneill, one of the three sons of Sir JOHN MACNEILL , was born at Stow, Northampton, England, circa 1834. He made plans for improvements to Dundalk harbour some time before 1863.(1) He was engineer to the Belfast Central Railway jointly with his father from 1868 to 1872 and on his own from 1873 to 1875.(2) He is said to have designed the railway station at Ballynahinch, Co. Down.(3) Towards the end of his life he moved to England. The census, taken on 3 April 1881, records him as a forty-seven year old unmarried engineer, living as 'head' lodger at 3 Spring Gardens, London.
