Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, of Dublin. Stephen J. McGloughlin, a director of the firm of J. & C. McGloughlin, Ltd., was born circa 1904.  He graduated BE from University College, Dublin, in 1925 and was appointed clerk of works for the Kilkenny waterworks extension scheme in March 1926.(1). He was killed in a car accident on 7 September 1962 at the age of 58.

ICEI: elected associate member, 5 November 1928;(2) transferred to member, 2 December1940;(3) wins Mullins Silver Medal, 1950, for his paper, 'An unusual design for roof steelwork', delivered 9 January 1950;(4) council member, 1961 until death.
