Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Assistant county surveyor for Co. Cork, based in Kinsale.(1)   Maurice Murphy, who was born in Cork City in 1872 or 1873, was an assistant county surveyor for Co. Cork from 1907 or 1908(2) until 1922.(3)   By the time of the 1911 census he was a widower with seven children.  The children's places of birth suggest that he had worked in Co. Westmeath circa 1900 and in Co. Offaly from circa 1903 until circa 1907.
