Architectural draughtsman, of Cork. Henry John Murphy was a pupil of ARTHUR HILL of Cork in November 1905 when he passed the RIBA's preliminary examination to qualify for registration as a probationer.(1) He passed the intermediate examination in June 1907.(2) He was still in Hill's office in 1908, when a measured drawing by him of the Zeus altar at Pergamum was reproduced in the Irish Builder.(3)
