Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, who supervised the building of Hollymount Church of Ireland Church, Co. Down. The plan of the church was provided by CHARLES LANYON  CHARLES LANYON in 1840, but, according to the Downpatrick Recorder, William Moore, Esq., architect, was 'indefatigable in his attention to the building during its progress'.(1) An architect of this name is listed in Martin's Belfast Directory for 1841-42 with a home address at 1, Glengall Street and an office address at 106, High Street, and in the Directory of Belfast for 1852, with an address in Chichester Street.(2) Legal documents apparently pertaining to a claim for £600 made by Moore against the Very Rev. John Chaine, Dean of Connor, dated 14 August 1855, are in PRONI. PRONI. (3)
