Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer. James Fitzroy Mitchell, who was born circa 1851, was a son of Adam Mitchell, sessional Crown solicitor for Co. Offaly. On 24 March 1890, when he was thirty-nine, his 'promising career as an engineer was sadly terminated at Buenos Ayres, after nine days' illness'. He was buried in the Victoria Cemetery, Buenos Aires, and a memorial pulpit by ALFRED P. SHARP  ALFRED P. SHARP of Dublin was erected by his father in St Brendan's Church, Birr.
