Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Assistant county surveyor for Co. Westmeath, from 1907 or earlier until 1933.(1)  According to the 1901 census of Ireland, Patrick Menton was born in Co. Westmeath in 1861 or 1862.   In his census return he describes himself as an architect, a land surveyor and valuer and a farmer.  By 1909 he had also become architect to Mullingar Rural District Council.(2)

At the time of the 1901 census Menton was married to a wife named Christina and had four young children.  His eldest son, Thomas, is probably the same person as THOMAS J. MENTON. THOMAS J. MENTON.
